How Motherhood Humbled Me

Never did I know

watching a successful poop

could bring so much satisfaction.

How seeing your child active, healthy, and happy

suddenly feels more luxurious

than anything you once thought mattered.

The ecstasy of watching your toddler eat happily and properly after refusing food all day?

Unmatched.

When the whole family sits together

and your toddler runs around the house laughing, singing, dancing, and jumping around like she owns the place.

Those moments feel almost dream-like.

The outings…

when every snack, every toy, every distraction you packed

turns out to be the right choice?

Honestly, those outings feel like tiny miracles.

When she suddenly plays by herself for a while,

giving you unexpected peace and me-time.

Wonderful, isn’t it?

Those low-needy days feel exceptional.

And then come the days

that humble you in completely different ways.

Never did I know

diaper changing would turn into a full-body workout

once my toddler turned one.

Or how confidently I could prepare a meal thinking—

yes, she will definitely eat this today

only for her to refuse even a single bite.

Humbled instantly.

Here’s the funniest part?

Sometimes the biggest tantrums

can be solved by something as simple as Wheels on the Bus.

How funny.

How strange.

How beautiful.

Motherhood truly changes what joy looks like.
